Softball queens!

Room 5 were lucky enough to have the opportunity to learn softball skills.

What can we learn from Saint Francis of Assisi about Peace and Joy?

Thanks Caitlyn for sharing how YOU are going to take this to heart.

Visit to the Town Hall

Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra
We were lucky enough to have the experience of hearing the APO (the Auckland Philharmonic Orchestra) play at the Town Hall.
What we said about the trip:
  • many children liked the music
  • the music was soothing particularly the viola
  • the playing was amazing because it was in harmony and they were in tune and in time
  • we liked the loud and quiet dynamics
  • the conductor introduced all the instruments
  • the conductor broke the orchestra and the music into different pieces and then put it back together again.
  • the conductor talked about how important it is to listen carefully even if we don’t like what we are hearing

Meaningful measuring in statistics and science

A day of meaningful measuring!

Maths: Statistics
In groups of 5 we had to measure our heights in metres and then find the mean, median, mode and range.

Science: Material world
For our science week rotation we made hypotheses regarding which ball would give us the best bounce and why. We considered physical properties of the balls and the environmental variables including force. We attempted to follow through we a fair test in order to test our hypothesis.

Commitment means...

We thought about what commitment means and what we are committed to.

We then went on to consider our commitment to others as Christians using the following roles: parent, teacher, friend, coach, priest, grandparent, brother or sister and ourselves.

Netball Inter School Competition

What a great day! What a great team! These girls worked so hard and played hard in all 6 games. Rain, rain, wind and more wind but smiles and laughs all day.
Big thank you to Christina and Julie Victor for supporting us in both the training and refereeing.
